3 Comments Show with CHIDDY BANG: March 12th, 2011. 03/02/2011
I've got a huge announcement to make. In a lot of ways, one bigger than ever before. I'm performing with Chiddy Bang on March 12th, 2011, next Saturday night. Here, at Cornell University. I am beyond pumped and so is the school/all my people. Photo streamlined from Crisp Collection Blog: I'll be doing a full set with a ton of new and bumping material, and I'm quite excited to share the stage with the duo who rocked the hit "Opposite of Adults on Youtube" and many, many others, in addition to accomplishing feats such as collaborating with Train, touring Europe, and conquering the college scene in the US. Cornell University, let's do this thang. The beloved Kia Rogers will be hyping and the underground star DJ Grumble (has produced for Mac Lethal, Tayyib Ali, Diabolic, and more) will be scratching the 1s and 2s!! Are you ready to really put your game face on and join the CRAZIEST party yet? Are you ready to really sing a long and throw your hands up in snowy little Ithaca? If not, then get ready. Because it's really going down. Here are the low-down-and-dirty Cornell details: -The show is Saturday, March 12th, starts right at 8pm -It will be held at Noyes Gymnasium/Auditorium on Cornell's West Campus -Tickets are FREE (how much better could this get?). However, much to the disappointment of a ton of people, are only available for Cornell students -Bring all your friends. -You have to be as wild as possible, including singing along, dancing excessively, vibing and nodding your head, and connecting with the sea of crowd strangers to scream your faces off together. -SPREAD SPREAD SPREAD THE WORD around campus about Chiddy Bang and Dylan Owen. Tickets will be released in the next few days through Willard Straight Hall on a first come/first serve basis! Join the FB event to get a message when they're available: Chiddy Bang and Dylan Owen at Cornell!! Let's get the best of Cornell in the building! HUGE shoutout to WCPC and Peter Van Do, you guys rock. Just ask Grumble how excited I am. I better see your pretty face there. D.O. WORK upcoming show schedule 02/26/2011

How did those shows go, Dylan? 02/13/2011
![]() practicing upstairs at Zeta Psi Jan. 27 -- The Shinobi Ninja and Kosha Dillz show at Castaways was a total blast, it was an awesome opportunity to rock with real professionals and hear some ridiculously cool stories about their music careers and the lives that they lead. Kosha just finished touring Europe with Snoop Dogg last year and has done tracks with Spose, GZA, and tons of others. This show with Shinobi was the first of their national tour and because they've been playing so many shows, their set was honestly one of the tightest sets I've ever seen, ever. Incredible. These guys know how to rock.... Huge shoutout to them for making the trip up through nyc's reckless snowstorm to kill it in Ithaca!! p.s. me and Kosha were kicking some freestyles after the show. I'm going to get my hands on that video and throw it up here, hopefully! Jan. 18 -- The frat party show at Zeta Psi was a blast as well!! it was cool to rock out in a new environment, and the reception was really incredible. People had their hands up the whole time, singing along, everything; so very much props to Zeta Psi's chapter here at Cornell, all the peeps they brought out, and all the pumped crowd members. Unfortunately Cam Meekins got caught in the snowstorm on the way up that day and would have had a super late arrival, so had to cancel his performance. Instead, local hip-hop artist Chance Fisher stepped up to the plate and brought his A Game, bringing some raw lyrical knowledge to the forefront of the frat party. The crowd loved it. Special thanks to: DJ V-Neck (name coined by Kosha Dillz), Earmuffs for his photos and scratching skills (good luck in nyc this semester my dude!), Kia Ro, and all my peeps who came out, supported, loved... Do work. -dylan TWO SHOWS coming up in the Ithaca, NY area. I'm glad to set the semester off right!!! Check it: ![]() This tuesday night, January 18th, I'll be performing at a frat party at Zeta Psi with Boston's Cam Meekins, he's got tracks produced by Matty Trump and has collaborated with Chris Webby and others. He frequently plays shows with some rocking artists. So we're going to rock the frat house. Looking very forward to it. An open party for Cornell students, so come through and check it out! Cam Meekins on youtube! Cam Meekins FB fan page! ![]() I've got a show in the city of Ithaca on Thursday, January 27th, at Castaways!! with Kosha Dillz and Shinobi Ninja! This is the first show to kickoff their national tour together, and I'm happy they're coming through to rock out in our city. I met Kosha at Bamboozle last year.. I've heard a ton about Castaways all semester. It's a rocking venue, apparently, so COME TO THIS. Even if ya aren't from Ithaca. I'd love to see upstate people there! The show is only $7, doors open at 7pm, and here is the address for mapquest purposes: Castaway's413 Taughannock BoulevardIthaca, NYAs usual, I'll be debuting new material. Let's do this. Shinobi Ninja on Facebook! Kosha Dillz on Facebook! So, first off, I'd like to give props to everyone who came out to NJ at the School of Rock, and then Doc Fry in Warwick a week later, both were a blast in their own way. It was great seeing my hometown people as well as my people from farther out. And gained some new fans in both regards. You guys rule. Furthermore, got great reception on all the new material I played and debuted. Apparently, it rocks harder than my stuff ever has before ("rocks" having a variety of meanings). Some of it to be released, some of it perhaps not. Still making those personal decisions. GET PUMPED Secondly, now that winter break is done, I can reflect on it a little bit. Mine was quite the trip. Got some head space after first semester. Got some free time to thoroughly focus on new music, and definitely got some quality time in Nico Marchese's basement rhyming over and scrutinizing drum breaks and melodies. We've both developed a TON as artists since "Senioritis" and it's a pleasure to be working together again, using the new skills and lessons we've gained to really create the best material we can. I've written like, 20 songs since the semester started. Probably more. Some collabs and some poems, as well. Most of these, I'm going to keep to myself (and probably play at shows here and there). But eventually, I'm going to drop the best of the batch on ya. Get a hard hat. Be prepared. Stay tuned for updates! I got to see some old friends and hear from some people I hadn't spoke to in awhile. Got to chill without having homework for classes. It was a nice feeling, obviously. And got to sit back and think about my plans for the future. Which are not-so-obvious... Thirdly: here's what I've got for ya. Something long awaited, long long awaited, and soon to be described with more updates and a specific date and details, but the "Old Armor" official MUSIC VIDEO will be released in the near future!!! Edited and produced by Justin Scutieri. Tons of shots of..... well.... you'll see! My first real music video. Too excited. It looks incredible and says what I want it to say. I cannot wait to show you. More info to come, very very soon. Thanks always for the support and for reading this blog. STAY POSTED for new music, the Old Armor music video, new show announcements (in the works), and much much more. I hope to see you at my upcoming shows! You rock. Keep do'in work. -dylan owen Finally, New Jersey, I'm coming back to you. School of Rock East in South Hackensack, let's do work!!! This show has been a long time in the waiting. Too long of a time. My first NJ show since Bamboozle? We've been apart for far too many months. It's really a pleasure to be able to come back and rock out again in the Garden State. What's even more awesome, is the show is only from 45 mins from Orange County New York, so I get to see some good ol familiar faces there as well. I couldn't be more stoked. I've already spoken to a ton of people who are coming out to see the show, and are equally as excited as I am. I want to pack this place!! We're going to be doing some new songs, perhaps some never ever ever before played songs that I'm finishing up this week. And of course will be doing some oldies and tons of "Senioritis" material as well. On stage will be DJ Intelligent Design, making his epic return to the wobbly table, as well as some other classic characters who may be making an appearance. Apparently the School of Rock is a sick venue! Been there? Good. Great. I'm glad. Now I better see you there on December 30th. Here's a link to purchase tickets online for the show! Please let them know which artist you're coming to see!: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=3270155 Also, if you live in the Orange County or NY area, just hit me up and i've got hardcopy tickets for ya! My phone works, my facebook messaging works, my email works, anything! Matt Clark is headlining the event, and Joey Gags and Gigg will also be performing. All are sick artists, and will surely hold it down for you guys and pretty ladies. $15 admission, doors open at 7pm! Prepare to party, maybe cry, nod your head, and throw up your hip-hop-strong arm. Let's put it short and sweet: Be there. You don't want to miss this. With much love (and hit me up if you have any questions/concerns at all!), I hope to see your face thursday night... Dylan Owen p.s. 31 Schrieffer St. South Hackensack, NJ 07606 <<<< the venue's address! here's the website with the show listing as well: http://www.excessdb.com/ BAM It's actually been forever since a rap battle video of mine got up on youtube. In fact, it's been quite a while since I rap battled in front of such a large crowd. However, this past friday night here at school, Cornell hosted an MC Rap Battle competition, with elimination rounds, and I won first place and won each battle I was in!!! Got a sweet prize and a ton of recognition from a new audience, and really had a blast. Had to battle a girl (that was a first!), a guy who looked sort of like me, and then a fellow artists who I know from the hip-hop scene here. Just wanted to make a post giving props to all MCs who competed and everyone who came out to watch the event, as well as get a new video up for all you rap battle fiends out there. It totally was reminiscent of my high school days. Here is the video from the FINAL ROUND of the competition: enjoy! show a friend! Let's get this vid more views than those oldies when my hair is way too long! C'mon! thanks, D.O. p.s. http://fuckyeahdylanowen.tumblr.com/post/2073779948/ivy-league-underground is a link to an awesome Tumblr post about my last show of the summer, that my much beloved fans' tumblr found and reposted. check it out! Level B. Rocking out. 11/27/2010
![]() Photo Cred: Liz Camuti! level b, rocking out Last thursday night I had the pleasure of playing another show in Collegetown of Ithaca, NY at a club called Level B. As I'm sure you could have guessed, I had a blast. I think there's something special to rocking out when the venue is tight and intimate, without a stage but crammed with tons of people in a small, heart-filled room. Like I always said one summer ago playing at various cafes in Orange County, I told my peeps in the crowd to "step on my feet." Get things nice and close. Feel me? The show was in celebration of a new, local clothing line's launch, they go by Life Changing Apparel. You can see me rocking one of their designs in the photo. Me and hypeman Kia Rogers (and Earmuffs, the beloved DJ) rocked out with local star Chance Fisher and supporting artist Brendan Doyle. The room looked something like a sushi place, with dancing. The lights were dimmed and there was a fancy bar on the other end. Naturally, with such an awesome audience, we made it feel like home. Postcards and Gone to Dubai were both a blast, seeing the crowd participate like that always gets me pumped. I also --- for only the second time ever --- performed a new song called "Life is Like a Music Box", which is yet to be released. I gave out some free CDs, sold a little bit of merchandise, met some cool new people, did an interview with LCA which turned into a live freestyle with Kia Rogers. Hopefully I can get my hands on that footage and post that up here for you guys! Feeling the support and reception from an almost entirely new crowd of friends and followers at school is a warming feeling. Knowing that we can rock shows and bring a lovely crowd in my new home is big news. So, thank you to all who came out and showed love and rocked with us, and I really anticipate my next performance in the area. Happy thanksgiving to everybody! Enjoy the calm before the storm. -dyl. p.s. count how many times I used some form of "rock" in this blog post.....go! | _Check me for updates, mood swings, and all new music information.
